With the amount of personal and business traveling that Mike has done over the years he knows how impersonal a Hotel or Motel stay can be. Treat yourself to a casual home environment with comfortable rooms and private baths. Enjoy a game or music in the living room, in front of the fireplace. Then finish your stay in the morning with a wonderful gourmet breakfast. You will enjoy fruit, fresh baked muffins scones and breads, and a variety of dishes including Mike's signature Eggs Benedict or "Grammie's Buttermilk Pancakes".
We invite you to join us as part of our family as we create new traditions, as well as keep the old ones in place!
Mike, your Innkeeper, was born and raised in what would become the Silicon Valley of Northern California. After graduating from college and a stint living and traveling in California, he decided to "Go East Young Man!" and in 1986 drove alone cross country in a 1967 VW Beetle and landing in CT at the home of his Father, step-Mom and sisters.
Mike has spent many years in the corporate world of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. He was finally able to realize his dream of owning an Inn when he learned the previous owners of the Tartan Fox were ready to move on. Having stayed at the Tartan Fox many times, it was now possible to not only rave about the place, but to actually own it!
Mike learned to cook at a very early age, inspired by both his Mother and Grandmother. He earned his "PhD" in inspired creative cooking at the age of 15 when he made a full dinner for the family, on the spur of the moment and with no recipes, of Stuffed Zucchini and garlic sourdough bread. From then on he has loved to cook both breakfasts and dinners for friends and family whenever possible, including his son's favorite Eggs Benedict.
In August of 2013 the dream became a reality, and is now a permanent NH resident again.
